Charging for HotSpot is misguided

They should simply do it like this:

* If you use X GB of data a month (whatever is the average for heavy smartphone users), it's included in the everything plan (and if you go over without tethering, it's also included)

* If you tether and go over that avg. use, you can purchase a "hotspot" extension for $29.99

That works for everyone. Because really, if Bob doesn't tether and uses 2 GB of data and Sam does tether and uses 1.5GB of data, why should Sam pay more than Bob?

I think 30$ is a bit much myself. I think shey should have done $10-$15 but I am not sure I would really use it anyways?

Im pretty sure someone will eventually make a hotspot app for when you root your Evo.

At $10 a month for hot spot a lot of people would add it on and be happy. At $10+$30 to get the EVO with hot spot people are going to (1) not buy the EVO and if they do they will (2) root and install free hot spot software.

Both ways it equals a big bag of fail for Sprint.

My bet is you'll still be able to use programs like PDAnet, use it all the time on my Hero. Although 30 bucks for the hotspot feature with true unlimited in the 3g area is well worth it in my opinion.

I have a 3G aircard now which costs me on average $250 extra in overage charges per month.
