charging hacks?

has anyone figured out any charging hacks?

on my old tp1, there was a hack to allow faster charging via usb. i know on our phones, the phone will limit the juice it's allowed to draw via usb, making charging slow on a computer.

has anyone figured out how to modify this?

There's a discussion in the accessories sub forum about chargers and how jumpering the two data pins on the usb is what triggers the phone into bypassing the 500mA limit. So it would seem that if a software fix were possible, it would need to bypass the data pin check.

However the usb spec provides only 500mA on each port max, so if you bypass the phone's check you could overload the port.
