Charging issues after update

So I finally installed the android update that was pushed today and now I'm having charging issues.

Tried multiple charging blocks and multiple cables. All do the same thing.

When I plug it in it constantly cycles between charging and not charging. Never did this before. Only way to get around it is turn off the phone, plug it in, then turn it back on. Then it works. But as soon as you unplug it and try to plug it back in it constantly cycles again.

Any insight?

Do you mean it will charge for a bit and then stop; or that it stalls on a specific percentage for a while? My G3 has done those things. Sometimes software updates eliminate charging issues or they make them worse, unfortunately. Sometimes, for me at least, it's literally random: some days it will charge normally, as it should, and others, it'll take twelve hours to get to 92%.

i am having the same issue, it goes away when i restart my phone but when i go to charge it starts going on and off like you said. Damn updates

Yup, sometimes my issues will temporarily go away after a restart. Software updates definitely play havoc with the device as far as charging goes, as well. Sometimes a new update may fix things, though. You never know - phones are temperamental like that.

I am having the same issue, I have had the phone for two weeks and have had 0 issues with the phone or charging but after the update it says "slow charging, use approved charger and cable "

Seeing the same issue after getting the update yesterday on T-Mobile.
Charging is on-then-off-then-on every second.

Anyone hearing of a solution or workaround from the carriers?

Yup, this is exactly my problem. After 5-6 hours on the charger last night, it was only at 63% or so. And then later on in the day, boom, it's charging somewhat normally.

Temperamental, I tell you! This issue - combined with freezing, lagging, and sometimes a black screen and faster battery drain - is making me want to buy a new phone in the next month or two.
