Charging Note 3 while using smart dock..

charging note 3 while using smart dock...

I'm currently using my note 3 with the samsung smart dock for gaming. It's rooted so I can use screen standby to switch the screen off completely. The charge still goes down about 8 to 10% an hour if not more. What I wanna know is if I buy a charger with say a 5amp output and connect it to the samsung smart dock will that make the charge on my note 3 go up instead of down?

I've decided I can't wait for a reply so..... I've bought an extra battery charging kit off eBay. It comes with a charging cradle holder type thing and 2 batteries. Sounds like it's the best I can do.
