charging problems

Hi, i am charging my battery but the led light blinks red. It has suppose to be still. Why is thsi happening? My battery icon displays charging but why does the led light blinks?

It will blink red when the phone is too hot.

It can also blink RED when the phone is completely dead and its trying to revive the battery enough to start a normal charge. But since this users phone is still on then as the poster above mentioned it could very well be over heated and its not charging due to that.
