Charging Speed

I am no engineer but I have the impression that my new Nexus 5x charges faster than my old Nexus 5. The Nexus 5 is gone so I can't compare the two and it is simply an impression. I'm using the same charging plug that I used with my Nexus 5 and the only difference is the USB to USB C cable.

Would USB C make it recharge more quickly using the same charger?

It could. So could a different battery.

No. It would charge at the same speed. The USB C charger the N5x came with charges at a higher rate.
