Charging takes forever

I did a factory reset on my phone last night and now the charging takes forever. Its telling me it has 8 hours until fully charged. I started charging my phone at 4% and its been 2 hours and its up to 20%. What happened?

Perhaps the USB lead and/or the USB port are damaged or dirty.
