Charging the phone from laptop

So I recently had knee surgery which means basically my bed and sofa are my home. Because of this I don't use the wall charger because my bed and sofa are too far from the outlets. So I just charge my phone thru my laptop now. I've noticed that while it takes a lot longer to charge it definitely lasts a lot longer than when I charge it through the wall charger. Now I know it's because it gets a smaller charge which means it would be giving a better charge, specifically a trickle charge. But wouldn't this contradict some of the theories that the Evo can't get a trickle charge? Has anyone else charged their Evo through a laptop and seen a difference?

I have used the laptop charge as well. I thought I noticed a diffrence but I am not 100% on that. From my understanding the power is always coming from the battery. That of course means its never fully charged if on and plugged in which is stupid if true.

I always leave it plugged in to the wall or laptop when I can. Wall charge with in 1/2 hour battery is down a bit. Laptop I get 40-60 minutes then down. If I use the device of course its sooner for both wether an app, talk, messaging and/or internet.
