Charging Trouble

My Optimus S has been acting very strangely on the charger the last few nights. First of all, I have always had trouble getting it to charge, I have to have the plug in just right just to get it to charge in the first place.

Now on to the new problem, I put it on the charger, the icon indicates that the battery is charging but it doesn't actually charge. It spent the entire night on the charger, when I woke up the icon was still indicating that it was charging, yet the battery dropped from 50% at 11:00 p.m. to 34% at 7:00 a.m.

I tried charging the battery with the power off, same result, the large battery icon pops up on the screen indicating that it was charging, but I get nothing. The battery contained exactly the same amount of charge as when I plugged it in even though it was on the charger for 7 hours with the power off.

This is getting really old, having a dead phone battery all the time.

Have you tried taking it to Sprint and having them switch the battery or check the phone out? Since you are having issues of hitting that 'sweet spot' with your cable in order to get it charged you may need them to take a look at it. Also, have you tried a different usb cable? I had a similar issue of the 'sweet spot' with my hero before and when i bought a new cable it was perfectly fine.

The charging/USB cable that came with the phone doesn't seem to stick just right, I use my old Exclaim's charging cable with no issues. Try a different cable, maybe that'll solve your problem. If it doesn't maybe you should take it to Sprint and have it checked out. Good luck!
