Chat Bubbles

Was the attached pic a mistake?

Yes, a mistake. Sorry. I don't know why it's there. It is my picture, but not supposed to be a part of the response.

I've never once used the bubbles. Lol I mean, for me, chat bubble sound like a great idea, but with Android notification shade that has always been in part of the operating system since day one and it's I won't stop place to see all your notifications in one shot I don't really see the point of notification chat bubbles.

I just wanted it for something different, not so much functionality. Also, why does my contact pic not appear when I reply from a notification? Instead I get a generic 'D,' despite having a pic assigned for my own contact.

yeah I've noticed that myself sometimes when I reply to a message from the notification shade. I'm not sure why. Sometimes it doesn't sync the picture ID, other times it does.

Ok, finally solved. Went into contacts, settings, my info, assigned a pic. Voila. So despite me appearing in my contacts with my Google profile pic, it doesn't pull from that.

So now I've enabled bubbles in developer options and the app itself, but still no luck.

I know what you mean. I have chat bubbles enabled and developer settings, And still no dice. Oh well, not a deal-breaker for me though.

I don't believe that it is actually live yet. I read an article yesterday, which leaned towards it not being a go until Android 11 ??

Yeah, I know, that's what I'm thinking as well. an Android 10 beta stages, try to use chat bubbles to no avail. I don't think I would want to use the chat bubbles because I'm so used to everything being in my notification shade as a one-stop shop for all alerts. That's why.

Facebook Messenger has these turned on by default. Hated them and turned them off.

Hi yeah I can understand why you would say that. Like I said, yet all notifications in my notification shade has a one-stop shop for all alerts. Why the heck do I need chat bubbles on my home screen. I can't even access them from my lock screen.

I used them on my S10...I think Samsung calls them "smart notifications." I just like the option as a change of pace.
