I just got the HTC One M8 and it has the same thing.
I have actually read that the ability to have data and voice at the same is a dying technology.
The reason, I have read, is that all of the new smart phones have a single radio path on their chip (radio antenna) instead of having two separate radio paths. Supposedly the reason for the change is that having a single radio path is more power efficient, and causes the processor chip to use less power.
Please note, that is what I have read. I am not sure that I believe all of it, though.

there are disadvantages too . it will increase bandwidth, time synchronization , tropically restricted multiplexing.. .
