Cheap Car Mount for Use with Garmin Friction Mount

The subject says it all. I have a Garmin friction mount (the heavy sandbag like mount that rests on your dash) and would like to use that with the Droid. I have seen that the Moto car mount has the same ball size as the Garmin, but it seems a bit much to spend $30 for the plastic casing to clip onto my Garmin mount. Is there a less expensive alternative for use with the Garmin mount?
