guy selling new evos and epics for 300 firm, new in box... He doesn't answer questions about why he selling so low or where he got them, what's the possibility these are stolen? I'm pretty determined I'm gonna avoid the guy but what do you thnk?

we just exchanged texts so far, no calling.

if this person is in your neighborhood meet with him in a sprint store try to activate the phone and if all goes good give him the cash...

Or you can get the esn from the guy and just call sprint to make sure that the esn is able to be activated.

I will ask him but he just said new in box and trst him lol, I will ask him again.

To second it, you HAVE to meet at a Sprint store and activate the phone before paying.

Otherwise, you can just send me a check for $200 and save yourself the other $100 :)

i have to agree with the others meet him at a sprint store activate phone first then give the cash thats what i did when i sold my first evo

yea def meet him at a sprint store...i bought a epic on craigslist for 250 brand new in box and the esn was clean, i definitely lucked out because i turned around and resold it for 360

We had someone at FED EX open our box and take half the evo's out and seal it back up out west.

Odds are they are stolen

Evos are on allocation still.. meaning dealers get limited shipments due to high demand. The more productive your dealer is, the more phones he will get.

So i even doubt its a dealer going out of business, because they can send the phones back and get full comp costs for each handset ( which is anywhere from 375-425 for dealer cost)

it's stolen, it can only be activated on metro pcs and boost, I didn't even have to meet up with the guy I just put the pieces together. It's a shame that almost half the ads for evos in my area can be activated on metro pcs or boost only.

Under no circumstances should you buy that phone without verifying a clean ESN. You could save yourself some cash and get a real good deal on a phone, or you could risk it and lose 300 bucks. Internet deals like this are usually too good to be true for a reason. Verify the ESN before you give this guy anything. Don't get burned brother.

Absolutely meet at the Sprint store. Only true way of finding out if it's clean. I bid on a Centro on eBay for cheap and the seller provided the ESN. I called Sprint to verify and they told me it was clean and ready to be activated. Once I received it, I called Sprint to activate it and they said it could not be because there was a balance on the previou's owner's account. Both the ESN on the phone and the ESN the seller provided before purchase were identical.

Even if he gives you the esn over the phone, beware. He can give you a good esn and sell you a bad one.

Why don't sprint or the manufactor come down on these clowns for stealing? I mean if I steal a evo and activate it on Metro PCS or Boost? The cops should be at my door within 48 hours, they know the esn is bad, why not act and take action on it?

I'm sure Sprint blocks the esn of the phones that doesn't make it to the store or get checked in by the system, knowing this, I shouldn't be allowed to use the phone ANYWHERE.

Because it costs more money and time to hire legal team and prosecute than it is to write off, not to mention most jurisdictions require over 300.00 before they will even consider it a criminal offense. Also a large company prosecuting a little man stealing is bad PR even though its the right thing to do.

Being a business, things like this happen and you budget for it.
