I want to buy a the cheapest bettery availible on ebay. I'll also buy the cheapest bettery only charger availible. Battery life isn't the main concern, it only has to last the 2 hours it takes to charge the OEM battery.

are ebay/china batteries safe? Will they damage my phone?

If you only need it for that short a time, would it be possible to just plug the phone into power durring the day to top off the battery?

Only problem that I have come across with the $4 batteries from china is that after the froyo update the batteries don't register with the phone. It works, powers on and everything is fine but it doesn't tell your battery level, just shows a black battery with a question mark in the middle.

because i bought the phone of of ebay and it only came with a car charger (it was a good deal though), so i need an indoor charger. Why would i spend 4$ on a charger when i could just get an extra battery and charger for 7$ and not be tied to the wall outlet

Do you sleep? Overnight is a perfect time to charge a phone. Do you work at a desk? While "tied" to a desk/workstation is also a good time to charge.

Do you sell micro-USB AC chargers? Why are you so persistant on me purchasing a charger rather than a battery? also, this may sound stupid but I remembered I have a usb-to-ac adapter plug leftover from my ipod touch, so I can use that, but a battery would still be nice.

Any answers to my original question?

I just think it's a better solution to the actual problem. (If you were using a Droid Razr, that would be your only solution.)

The only info I have on 3rd party batteries for the X is that the monster one from Seidio interferes with the GPS.
