check for updates

Ok guys so I made the jump from Sprint and my evo to tmo my touch 4G any way to check for updates also what are the phone codes to get into internals of the phone I know for Sprint is was ##3282# etc

Gingerbread now had a check for software updates. 2.3.3 did not have this. Someone stated that typing *#*#checkin#*#* would activate something but all I saw was "checkin successful" in the notification bar.

I do not know about any internal codes. Sorry. The generic check your bill, mins and etc are all I am aware of.

*#*#checkin#*#* pings the server and checks to see if there is an update available. This check-in is done automatically by your phone periodically but this is the way to force a check-in.
If all you see if "Check-in Successful", it means that you don't have any available update. Updates are rolled-out in batch so your turn didn't come yet

Good info here as I was wondering the same thing.

I wasnt that impressed with GB on a Galaxy S though, so not sure if I will make the dive yet. Well I have no update anyway, do I really can't and not experienced enough to root.
