So, just installed BULJ then ran clear cache and started optimizing apps with Galaxy App Booster. I was watching and I noticed it optimizing "com.samsung.android.wcmchinaurlsnetworkstack" which seemed odd.

A Google search brought me to this link.

Inside that discussion, Samsung mentioned that they would remove for US customers. But they didn't.

Also inside that discussion is a link that describes how they use Chinese DNS services to detect if the user is in China. My issue is that it appears to pass url requests through Chinese servers even though I am not in China and there is no need for it.

So, my question is whether anyone else has noticed this, and if they have successfully disabled the app. It's a system app and can't be uninstalled. But, I'd like to disable it if it won't break anything.

You have to enable the system apps on the filter. Then search for "china"

It's apparently on ALL Galaxy devices

Gotcha. I see the size is zero now. Weird that the app shows up at all.

I know , i tried locating it in package disabler pro it didn't come up but alliance shield it did and blocked it through there but dont think it matters as it all 0 like not installed

Interestingly, it's on my work provided S10+. And on that one, it's 147 kb, and has data and cache.

I can't install any apps with admin privileges on that phone, though. So, I can't disable it there.

Maybe Samsung didn't install after that s10 series
Yeah work phone cant mess with that
