Chinese system language for S3?

I just picked up a Ting S3 for a Chinese friend of mine, and the menu language options only have English, Spanish, and Korean. How do I get it to cough up Chinese? Do I need to root the phone? I'm willing to do so, if necessary, but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible.

I've looked into this before--it seems that Samsung devices tend to be more limited when it comes to available languages. Not sure why they do this. I would imagine that the language selections vary with the regions that particular devices are made for.

You probably do have to root the phone and use an app like Language Enabler.
