I'm curious, why _would_ it ask you? Don't most phones come with just a single dialer app? Wouldn't it only ask if you had multiple dialer apps installed if at all?

Hi
Sorry for the delayed reply. I used multiple applications. Nimbuzz, Scydo, Viber, and the Phone. If i select a contact from the phone contacts, and click on dial, i might want to dial the person using viber or scydo or the phone, depending on my current location. I used to have a Galaxy note, and all samsung phones provide this facility. , similar to when you click on new message in LG G2, it asks you whether you want to message using messaging, Skype, viber or whatsapp.
Please let me know if this is possible.

Can you go into the app info for the default dialer and clear the default flag? I dunno, I'm just pulling this out of the air as I've never tried.
