Chrome battery use

Hi again over the past few days Chrome has really been using my battery, in the stats it's showing that it has been using the battery more than the screen and when using chrome the battery drops quicker than anything else I use.
Anyone know how to stop this or another browser that won't eat my battery

My first suggestion would be to go to Chrome's Settings -> Privacy -> Clear browsing data and then clear everything from the beginning of time.

Or, go to phone Settings -> Apps -> Chrome -> Data usage and disable Background data.

Try one or both and see if you notice a change.

Try out WARP BROWSER it had power save mode too. Its also pretty fast without any advertisements.

Won't it not sync anymore if you disable background data?
