I love my Fascinate and though some people say they don't like the build quality I rather like it. It's thin, light and attractive.

However, I just noticed that the "chrome" paint that runs around the edge has started chipping around the USB door. I am guessing this comes from plugging and unplugging the phone. I don't think that I have been mistreating my phone or really missing the port when I go to plug it in very often. I'm kinda frusterated and disappointed that my phone now has this ugly spot on it.

Has this happened to many others? I'll add a picture when I get home.

I have a very small spot, probably from plugging in the USB and not paying attention. I'm not really worried. There, and the mic port, are the only places you can even see that chrome strip with my case. I'm usually too busy looking at the screen to care about the top of it. Doesn't bother me.

Got a chip on the bottom left corner of mine, but thats from being dropped, stuff happens, I've just learned to deal with it.

It's normal wear and tear that happens to every gadget. If something like that really bothers you buy a new cover for 10 bucks. Remember it's just a phone...

Hah! Thanks for the input guys, I'm not trying to whine about it and yes I know it's just a gadget and not the end of the world; But I am still just a little frustrated that they didn't use either real metal or better paint for that edge. Glad/Sorry to see I'm not the only one though. :)

Just a phone!!?? We all love our phones like we love our pets. Remember the feeling when you first get your new phone; you don't want anything to happen to it. That being said, I've dropped mine on a number of occasions and I always worry about the chrome part, but mine has held up well. And I'm not a case guy either.
