Chrome pop-ups since Android 9

Hi,

since I have installed Android 9 on my Galaxy Tab S3 last night Chrome pops up randomly while I use the tablet. It shows edgy commercials like porn, Bitcoins, ...

Any clue what could be causing this behavior and how to solve it?

Malware scans haven't identified any infection.

Also, if Peel Remote is installed, uninstall it or disable it. Peel is a terrible app that has repeatedly caused ad problems.
