Chrome Remote Desktop issue

Is anyone else using Chrome Remote Desktop? I have been using it successfully for months, but after the last update, it dissapeared. I reinstalled it, and tried to log into my windows pro desktop as I always have. It asked for a PIN, which it never did before.

I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and now its says I have no registered computers, and some message about installing it on the computers I want to access. I dont want to install anything on my win pc pro, just use the RDP I have always used. Im trying to see what or when this app changed and google is not much help
I installed an xtralogic remote app, and it works fine, but its not free.

Any ideas or thoughts here?

no, but it never was before and worked, unless Im just totally senile, which is always a possibility. I always relied on std windows pro RDP. But who knows at this point. I just installed it now on the windows machine, and it did ask me to set up a pin, which I never remember doing before.

But who knows. I guess for now its working again..

As far as I remember, the Windows (or Mac) machine needed the extension installed and PIN set up.

Ya well then going with the senility defense.;-) at least its working again. Still dont know what caused it to stop working, but guess I just have to move on. Some things just never get answers

Hmm that raises a new question tho. Will this work for a win pc that is not pro, and therefore not equipped windows RDP? If I install the chrome ext on a win home version pc, will I be able to remote into that from the chromebook?

Does chrome browser have those extensions for Android? I remote into the win pro pc from an Android tablet with an android app, but it does require the host to be win pro

You don't need Windows RDP to use Chrome Remote Desktop.
