Playing from my Nexus 7 6.0.1, I can't seem to get more than 10 minutes of playback before it drops the connection. While it is streaming, it will stutter, pause, just basic crappy playback.
This is with avi's, mp4, and mkv files over MX, VLC, and the built in android player. I also have an Samsung Galaxy S5 that I will stream from, and it's playback is, although not perfect, way better than my Nexus 7.
This leads me to believe that the issue is with my Nexus 7; Any ideas as to what I might try to help improve the playback / streaming?
TIA

How good is your wi-fi network? If speeds are pretty low that can cause choppiness.

If your router can use the 5GHz band, try connecting the Chromecast and the N7 to that band, since the 2.4 GHz band tends to have more interference from neighboring wi-fi networks, as well as household devices like your cordless phone or a microwave oven.

If the router only uses 2.4 GHz, then log into its settings via your web browser (see the router manual to learn how), and change the wi-fi channel to a less crowded one. Use an app like Wi-Fi Analyzer to find out which channel has the least traffic.

Don't think I can pin this on network, since my Galaxy S5 seems to play with little to no issues. I'm just really wondering if there is a setting on the N7 that would help. I'll force it to 5Ghz and see if that helps, but I will tell you, I live in a remote area, and there are no competing networks. Could be other devices in the house, but doubtful. No phones or other devices around on the 2.4 band...

If that doesn't work, try booting the N7 into Safe Mode, to see if any 3rd party apps are interfering.. I'm not sure if it can cast in Safe Mode, but it's worth a try.
