Jus got the 1.7.4 update on my T-Mobile HTC one m8 but no sign of "mirroring" tho...I wonder why not?

Are you running kit Kat 4.4.2 or higher? It only works on 4.4.2 or higher.

I have the same issue ... 1.74 update to Chrome cast.. Moto X with 4.4.2... What is up?

The option to cast the screen is in the settings. Click the tab in the top left in the cc app.

Edit: OK I see your images now. You did click in the top left. Option is not available for some reason? I don't know. Maybe try clearing the cache in the play services app and/or the Chromecast app?

Thanks

Tried the cache and reboot of both phone and chrome cast.. No luck. Looks like all versions are in tolerances but anyhow; I'll be curious if anyone else with a moto x posts their own experience. I might try to reset the Google play cache when I get home later. Thanks for the reply!

I'm guessing the option is still in the works for the m8..I tried on the m7 n it worked perfectly (mirroring)

I just thought it was app dependent ie Chrome cast app 1.74? Bummer for now...

They showed a slide at I/O with a list of devices that would get mirroring first, mostly nexus devices. The M8 wasn't on there.

Oddly the M7 was if I recall correctly.

I have an option in my settings but with 2 chromecast, I still can't do anything.

Not all devices are supported. Look for the article on here for the last of supported devices.

As others have said it is mostly nexus devices along with a handful of other devices. But mostly nexus devices. It world's fine on the Note 3

Any word on the next batch of supported phones to be added to the list? No M8 is absurd.

I love Chromecast mirroring on my Nexus 5, have to use the Allcast app on my Dell Venue 8 for now that is running KitKat 4.4.2

Anything yet? I'm desperately waiting on this for my m8!

I am unsure what about the M8 prevents the Chromecast from mirroring its screen.

Obviously, Google and HTC must know and maybe it is just not a priority right now to come up with a fix or less likely it is unable to be fixed.

Either way it is a bummer.
