Clean ESN

How does one know if the ESN is clean. I am looking to buy a used HTC EVO and I want to know how to tell if it is Clean..

Get the esn number from them and use the activate new phone tool on your sprint website,it will tell you if it's clean or not.

Another way is to call Sprint and give them the ESN and ask them if its clean or not.

Easiest way I have found is to go to Sprint2boost.com. They have a free ESN checker on there.

sorry.. all the advice here is useless .. if the seller gives you a good esn to check.. but sends you a different phone with a different esn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

of course they could be honest.. which there are honest sellers out there.. but if you are unluck to get one scammer.. your $$ are gone

only one real way to do it.... this is what I do....
meet at a sprint store! have them check the esn on the actual phone... if it is good.. then pay.

That is the best way. I actually insisted that the buyer met me at a local Sprint store when I was selling my old Blackberry. Even though I transferred the activation from the Blackberry to my EVO it was just easiest for me to go there if any problems came up that needed my account info.
