Clear app data?

Is there another way to clear a particular app's data? I've had several different s7 edge phones and on each the "clear data" and "clear cache" options in the app settings don't work. I click, leave, go back in and all cache/data is still there.

To be clear, I'm looking to clear data (not cache) for one app (not the whole phone)

Could this be any single app, or is it always just the same one?

Some app data and cache are required for some apps. When the cache is cleared, the app will immediately refresh it with needed info and you can not prevent this. Clearing data only clears the user data (such as a game's saved progress), but this could also be refreshed if it's synced to the cloud and downloads that data again.

Hi it's any app. On older s-models I used to be able to clear out non-essential data... so I have done this before. Everything online suggest that I should be able to on the S7 as well. But it just doesn't. It goes to zero and then when I go back in all the numbers back up to where they were. Thanks for your help with this!
