Clear View turns off after a few seconds

I got the clear view cover with my new S9+
as I was playing around with the settings I now noticed that my clear view screen turns off after a few seconds. how to I prevent this and have it staying on?

my Clearview stays on but doesn't show my notifications

if I remember correctly, I think last year it was a bit wonky until there was an update
