Clearing cache on oreo

Al I see now is smart storage and files divided in to pics videos etc. Do I have to go into recovery to clear cache now?

You can't do it in recovery anymore. Google removed that feature. You have to clear cache one app at a time now.

The system cache partition is different from the individual app caches, so clearing the app caches won't do the same thing. It might still help for certain issues, though.
