clearing processes and freeing up memory

I have noticed that when using the pull up screen and using the little mobilego propeller icon to clear active processes, with in a few minutes of doing so, there are more processes again to clear...even the phone has sat idle. I would figure without me doing anything, it would stay "optimized", but this is not the case. Is this normal or am I having an issue?

Grazie!

That's normal, if you kill them they just come back :)
Android I pretty good at managing memory itself.

+1 on this. I used to shut down processes when I first got my Android thinking I was saving battery life by decreasing memory utilization. Then I did some research and learrned how Linux / Android manages memory. Way more efficient than me

Read Multitasking the Android Way to get the programmer's view. She knows why it was written to do it the way it was, and explains it in pretty simple terms.

(And never use an app that "optimizes" an Android phone. A few of us have run some tests on some of them, and no one's found any that really save battery or make the phone run faster. In fact, when I uninstalled the last one I tested, by battery life just about doubled.)

Also never use an app written by a company that writes an optimizing app. Since they've showed that they don't understand how Android works, I wouldn't trust anything they write.
