Hey Guys,

Not really sure if this is an issue or just how the phone operates, i can't remember noticing it before now but when I switch from using the phone to the camera, or even google googles, the phone makes what sounds like a clicking type noise.

Is it just my phone that is doing this or has everyone noticed it? I'm not overly concerned and am assuming its just something the EVO does cause mine works perfect in every other regard, but would love to know if other people have also noticed this.

Kinda just sounds like a tick, or a really low click like the camera is turning on or something... again it might be normal, but i can only go off experience of my Pre which I didn't do that.

Thanks!

I noticed that as well the other day.. and for clarification it's just a single 'click' when the phone activates.

It reminds me of a normal camera who's shutter opens when you turn on the lens.. I think it's most likely the auto-focusing mechanism getting power and 'adjusting' for first use.

It is a digital auto-focus. So much for that theory.
damn, wonder what it is then.

Not hearing it on mine...

I didn't notice it ever before, maybe i wasnt paying attention, but I only noticed it today at work when I was using google googles. Everything seems to be working normally apart from these clicks, does it in Googles and the camera app. When I come in the app and exit, and also noticed it after a picture was taking... maybe it is the camera focusing?

I'm not going to worry about it, seems like most users have this sound so it must be normal. Everything works perfectly so no reason to think this is a defect. Plus everything else on my EVO is A-OK just thought it was kinda odd to hear that.

That said, my Pre didn't have auto-focus so that could be whats causing the sound.

I'm pretty sure even digital auto-focus involves a small moving part. Focus is a physical event.
