I'm trying to go from stock 2.1>Unrevoked 3>S-OFF>OTA

Following instructions here:
forum.xda-developers,com/showthread.php?t=766361

It seems like link in that thread to the PB31IMG.zip on adrynalyne's site does not remove clockwork so I was unable to OTA.

So I decided to nandroid back to a backup when I set up Unrevoked 3 for root. This still had S-OFF.

I then tried to run the complete 2.1 ROM on adrynalyne's site (the 139MB file MD5 verified).

When i run hboot I get a no image or wrong image shown below:

SD Checking...
Loading...[PR31DIAG.zip]
No Image!
Loading...[PR31DIAG.sdk]
No Image!
Loading...[PR31IMG.zip]
No Image!
Loading...[PR31IMG.sdk]
No Image or wrong image!

This should be in the Hacks / ROMs forum not the general forum. It would get more attention there.

You need the stock 2.1 non-rooted image file.

Use that and you will have a stock phone with s-off. If you want s-on and stock not rooted you will need to run the s-on tool first, however I don't think it will let you install the PB31IMG.zip with it on. Never tried it so I don't know.

Thanks for the response Qazme and mods feel free to move this thread.

The problem is that the PB31IMG.zip file doesn't seem to be working. I've tried a few different versions of the file from different sources, but hboot won't recognize.

Make sure your SD is formatted FAT32. Mount it as a disk, then in windows right click the drive goto properties. It will be listed under "File System". If its not format it FAT32 and try again. Backup anything on it before you do it because it will erase the drive.

It just says FAT under properties in Vista.

I'm currently backing up my stock 2gb sdcard that came with the phone and see if I can just reformat it.

Just curious, but I still had the unrevoked-forever.zip and the folder for clockworkmod on my sd card. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Nah doesn't make a difference. The reason it didn't work should be fixed when your reformat it FAT32! Let us know!

Yup that definitely did the trick. I wrongly assumed the stock card was formatted to FAT32.
I further researched from this thread as well as I was formatting.

http://androidforums.com/incredible...ideo-howto-unroot-incredible-downgrading.html

1) I backed up my SD card
2) I formatted with FAT32 and the default bit size i think it was like 44k.
3) dropped adrenalyne's PB31IMG.zip onto the root of SD card
4) hboot let it run then select install
5) back to stock and went through all the promts
6) OTA notification came up and installed OTA
7) went through the green circular arrow install of Froyo and let it do it's thing
8) Froyo installed and removed PB31IMG.zip from SD card

Now to re-root and get rid of all this bloatware.

Gonna follow this guide:

http://www.jonamerica.com/technology/howto-htc-droid-incredible-froyo-2-2-and-root/

So far browser actually seems snappier. Pages load faster and when you hit the back page it just snaps back to the previous page. I assume they cache the page somewhere.

Hopefully everything else is good.
Thanks for the help and I will try to update with info as I test.

i as well tried and got the same thing even after the FAT32 change. cant seem to role back and break root? any suggestions?>

I have the same message "No Image or wrong image". I have tried reformatting, etc, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as Froyo is just waiting for me to unroot.

Got it...ended up using Unrevoked3 with a custom recovery (recovery.img from zip above) and it worked. Got a red triangle with exclimation mark and that was the intent (stock).
