Clockwork mod explanation

OK so after many posts I finally rooted my device using the root toolkit by wug and I've read that clockwork mod is great to have. I installed it and did a back up. But can someone explain to me how else to use it. Ie getting more mods or themes.,,,do I just click download and it works or is there more involved. Sorry if this seems dumb this stuff is just way over my head and I'm used to jail breaking apple products. Thank you

Yeah you can do much more. You can download mods to your phone and then flash them through CWM to install them. Read one of the stickies on doing that first, it's more involved than that
