Just recently upgraded to ClockworkMod 3, and when i go to wipe Dalvik Cache.. i see the below error message.

E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]

But then right after that, it says "Dalvik Cache Wiped".

Any ideas? I've noticed that wipe cache partition comes up with a prompt that i then have to scroll down and click yes to actually do the wipe.. but sometimes Dalvik cache never prompts me.. or it takes 10seconds for the prompt to load. I've noticed this same behavior back on version 2.5 as well as 3.0. Happen to anyone else?

Yeah all that happens to me i have no idea why but i never cared to look into it cause my ROMS still work

I think I remember seeing this somewhere before. If I remember correctly, the wipe dalvik cache feature will also wipe the extended partition on the SD card, but only if you have the extended partition created for the apps 2 SD card feature. You are likely seeing this error because you don't have the extended partition created (likely because you are not using the apps 2 SD card feature). Now, this is just what I am recalling off the top of my head and could be totally wrong, but I'm sure I read that somewhere in another thread. I'm sure a simple Google search will point you to a few forum threads where the topic has been discussed before.

Yea happens to mine all the time!Does it matter if roms and kernels still flash?Would like to fix it some how, that's for sure!

I don't think it matters cause my ROMS and kernels still work perfectly fine.

Right! It's not an error in the sense that something went wrong. It's an error letting you know that the extended partition could not be found on the SD card. Everything should still work perfectly.

I have the same error!

You are true, i can continue working perfectly.

But there is a solution to fix that problem?

Thank you!

Well, you can try to update your version of ClockworkMod to the latest and hope there is a fix in there or start using the Amon_RA recovery that has a separate checkbox for the sd-ext partition and will ignore it if it doesn't exist and you check it anyway.

FYI, any nandroids made with ClockworkMod won't work with Amon_RA (and vice-versa).

Hey, thank you for fast reply!

Could you tell me how can i upgrade the ClockworkMod version? Cause yesterday i tried to do it through ROM Manager and only could downgrade to 2.5.1.2, not upgrade! :(

Now i have 3.0.0.5 version.

Thank you.

I believe that 3.0.0.5 is the latest version. I tried doing some Google searched for it and I can't find anything easy for it. I can see that the Desire HD has 3.2.0.0 but not much else.

Since I don't use ROM Manager or ClockworkMod, I'm afraid I can not be much more help.

I think I'll stick to Amon_RA and flashing through recovery.

You can upgrade clockworkmod through Rom Manager.

It's ok if sd-ext isn't found, not everyone has it, if you want it use clockwork/rom manager to format your sdcard and dedicate some space for apps2sd.

I don't find the option in clockwork/rom manager to format sd card.

And if i try do it with Rom Manager i have the errors in recovery 3e:

E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
