"Close All Apps"??

Is there a way to close all apps on my new Pixel 2? On my Note 8, when one holds down the left soft button, all the apps pop up in a rolodex kind of view and at the bottom you can click on "CLOSE ALL" to clear all the apps out....I'm not seeing that on my fully updated P2 on VZW.

Press recent button then scroll to top of all the recent apps an it says clear all on the top right

But, to be fair, that only clears the "recently used" list, it does not stop the processes for those apps and release the memory they were using.
