So, This is my second issue with Nexus S 4G. Agreed that I jumped to this phone knowing about this issue. However, I have huge amount of music (about 16 gigs) that I would like to access on my phone. The Google Music Beta puts me on a waiting list currently. Anyone know of any other reliable cloud accounts that I could use for something this big, or even close to this big ?

Thanks for the quick reply. I was looking for something that has more memory I guess..but this would be a fine start.

Amazon has a range of storage options; you just have to be willing to pay for them. I think I saw that if you buy an album from Amazon and have it stored in your cloud drive they will give you a free full year of the 20gb storage level. You can also check out Ubuntu One, but I don't think they offer as much storage as Amazon.

Not sure what you mean. If you purchase a digital album from amazon before Dec 31st 2011 then you get 20gb of cloud space for 12 months free of charge and any amazon digital music purchases doesn't count towards that 20gb. Some albums can be found for as low as $.89 which means you get 20GB's for a year for $.07 a month when you do the math. Anyone can sign up for 5GB for life but 20GB is free for a year then like $20 a year there after.

If this (20GB) doesn't work for you then i think you need to look more towards setting up a storage solution of your own.

You probably should take a few minutes out of your day and read this.

I did read the amazon site, but cheaped out at the 20$ an year solution for 20 GB. I dont think it compares well to having an additional 16 G of memory on your phone (no additional costs per year, and you dont need the internet to stay connected to your music --- win-win!). I was looking mainly for free sites that might offer this.

I'm concerned about the "free for now" description under the all description on Google music. I really would like to hear what that's about.

::cough, cough:: didn't read the $.89 a year comment ::cough, cough::

After that setup your own NAS. Seriously, if your admittedly cheaping out, thats the way to go.

0.89$ an year only for the first year but 20$ an year after that, right ? Am I missing something ?

From what I read here the album offer expires in December. As when that 12 months free* expires you would have to pay the 20. Assuming their not running a promotion at that time.

The .89 being the cheapest album of God knows what on the store site.

I don't have a Nexus yet, but I'm considering moving to it from the EVO. At first, the lack of external memory card was the main reason I didn't want to get the phone. But the more I thought about it, the more I like the idea of storing to the cloud, so long as I can download easily to the device when I want to listen to something so I don't have to stream.

The main reason I like the cloud idea is the fact that I've been through three micro SD cards on my EVO already. Seems after a certain number of read/write cycles, they corrupt. Since you have to buy them online to get them cheap, you have to wait for days to replace a corrupt card. PITA. With a Nexus, I'll never have more than 16GB on board, but then again, I won't ever have to replace another card, either. I'm playing with Amazon's cloud service now. It seems to be working well enough that the external storage is less an issue than it was.

as long as you buy at least one album per year you get to keep the 20 gigs, from what i understand. ideally, you would buy a cheap ass album and get the 20 gigs for a year. then when google music gets fully functional, start using it and just let the amazon account go away.

Yeah the only thing that is stored on my memory is the pictures I take with my camera. With Google voice, SMS don't eat my memory away. I use Google Docs to store School projects. Really can't go wrong with the cloud.

Although I do not use it I have read good things about Audiogalaxy. If you run the app on your computer and keep it on then you can stream your music to your phone. It is free which should be cheap enough for you, just need to keep your computer on.

I use AudioGalaxy to stream all of my music from my PC to all of my android devices. It is free and works well. Check it out
