CM7 on LG Optimus V

I have the LG Optimus V and I really want to update it with the new android platform, but I can't do that until I put CM7 on it. I am not tech savvy at all. I've tried to follow the instructions and download the necessary files from other forums on this site, but I just can't figure it out. HELP!
