Information is available but scattered from forum to forum. I apologize to the admins if there is a better link available that can answer my questions, feel free to close this thread.

My Situation:

Running Stock ROM, rooted the unrevoked way. Enjoying the wireless tether feature. Also enjoying that fact that I can mirror out of my HDMI port(thanks FULLHDMI!). A feature I dont use often but nice to have.

Ive been patiently waiting for a decent/stable ROM I can jump ship too from my stock one. Hoping that I wouldnt BREAK too many things and look for work around. So this is where my questions come into play with the CM7 RC2 users.

Based on the forums ive been on ive seen issues people complaining about that arent really answered well and issues are scared across this forum/XDA-Dev/CM7 forums.

Issues Ive read about:

1) GPS - sometimes works...is there a workaround?
2) 4G - RC2 claims this was fixed but people have stated there are intermittent issues..is this true? is there a workaround?
3) Wireless Tether - No longer works...is there a work around to this??

Now my last question...What main benefit do you gain from running a Gingerbread ROM vs Stock ROM? More snappier processing? apparent speed boost?? Anything else that is significantly noticeable that would make want to potentially break the features I have now to try 2.3? Any friendly feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

my 4G works great....i dont use wireless teher app cause of the built in one on CM....but the built in one works perfectly for me......only thing i notice with RC2 is when i plug in my device to enable the "USB storage"....the android guy lights up RED and sometimes cant access my SDcard on my PC....not sure why though

my 4g wireless tether doesn't work. cm7. portable hotspot built in. 3g works great...but i hate 3g speeds. my 4g doesn't allow any data through. any thoughts?
evo 4g cm7 latest stable build.
thank you so much

Make a backup and try some roms. You can always restore back to where you were. Most noobs don't realize those backups are pretty much an exact image of your phone. You can always restore.

truism,
I am a noob..and i felt was really branching out rooting and adding CM7. I love it. but haven't really researched reflashing roms...etc. but i am pretty sure it isn't a long process.
i have titanium backup, and even though i have never had to restore, i guess its pretty good. still learning.
super love my cm7 evo. hated the stock. too slow, low on memory, etc. long list.
