I just installed CM7 RC3 and my GPS isn't working, I'm pretty sure my phone is only getting my location from cell towers, it's always off by a few miles. I've been digging through the forums for a while now and can't seem to find a fix.

With CM7 RC3 My Market Links have been restored and it fixed my GPS issue I had with RC2. It was usually 30 feet off and now it's spot on. Did you flash over RC2 or was this a fresh install?

I actually came from the stable version of CM6 so i did a full wipe. By market links do you mean it reinstalled all your apps for you? if so then thats what mine did.

After a full wipe with CM7 you have to install the latest GAPPS.

As far as GPS goes, I'm on #31 the build just before RC3 and everything is working. Make sure you update maps to the latest and open maps first before opening nav.

Hmm hard to say then if you did a full wipe. By Market Links I meant that all my Apps would be installed but the Market never noticed. I had to use Titanium Market Doctor to restore them. With RC3 I didn't have to do this, but who knows I've had it for like 6 hours.

I thought I had the new GAPPS but maybe not. I'll see what i can figure out. Really not sure where I went wrong.

What phone do you have?

I have an HTC EVO/Supersonic 4G and had major GPS issues on CM7 RC1/2 etc. It turns out was something else that could only be fixed by doing a ##GPSCLRX# dialer code on a sense based ROM, switching back to the stock ROM didn't even fix it but the dialer code did. If you do end up doing that you will need the MSL code as the password and their is an app in the market called MSL Reader - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.esccode.msl

Once I did this the GPS started working on the stock ROM and then I flashed back to RC2 and I am getting very fast, and accurate locks!!

Even if this isn't your issue I am sure this will help someone!

I can tell now that this is not a google maps issue, my gps just is not working at all. Any new ideas?

Jorian, which clockwork version are you using? If not 3.0.0.8, then I suggest upgrading to it. 3.0.0.5 and 6 had some issues on the DInc.

Once upgraded try a reinstall wiping dalvik and cache.

I have an incredible and am using clockwork 3.0.0.8. Never had any issues with CM6 so I just flashed back to that for now, need my google maps.

That's bizarre. I just flashed #32 and GPS Worked fine on my way home.

Worked OK on #31 also

Ok, for troubleshooting purposes, I'll flash my Inc to RC3 and report GPS status. Rather than flash back to 31 and go to RC3, I'll do a fresh install of RC3.....stand by.

Ok, I flashed to RC3:

then flashed the nightly:

In both situations GPS/Maps/Navigation worked flawlessly.

Sounds like something specific to my phone that isn't right. I have not tried the nightlies but i will when i have time.

I've had a couple force close issues so far, but after reinstalling a few apps everything's running fine. I flashed over RC 2 with a cache and dalvik wipe.
