cm7 rc8? 7.1.2? i'm confused could someone clarify

i am running cm7 rc1.8 i think? now i see this 7,1,2 what exactly is all this about, if i flash do i need to do full wipe? i don't think i will be flashing judging by the bugs i have seen in the thread but i am lost as to what cm7 has merged into!
