CM9-RC1 GPS issues

I've searched and haven't seen found about what I'm seeing but I've noticed that my battery drains when using GPS with Google Maps while plugged in.

This past weekend I made a quick day trip and found my phone almost dead by the time I reached my destination (about a 3 hour drive). The phone was plugged into my car charger, the weather was good with very little clouds, and I generally had decent cell signal the entire way.

Aside from the phone rebooting often during that trip (I've since reinstalled Maps) I again noticed the battery drain again today. Has anyone else noticed this issue with CM9-RC1? I used to do this all the time with stock FC09 and never had this happen.

I haven't taken a long trip, but I find that when using GPS my charger doesn't keep up. 2-4% battery loss per hour. Not anything close to 30%

Why haven't you switched to rc2? Also I have tasker turn my gps on with maps open and off with it closed.

Honestly I'm waiting on RC3 but I only turn the GPS on when I use maps.

I'm going to do a little more testing but my battery gets taxed when using GPS and maps.
