"com.android.phone stopped"--phone unuseable?

running DasBamf GB 2.0.5Remix
imo 3.0.1test kernel
MR2 official radio
(no task killers )
--running this setup fine for at least a week without any problems-

used the phone fine this morning for 1 hour, then "process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" began popping up.
(also, "application HTC DM has stopped working)
4G symbol disappears, X replaces my cell strength bars & i can't text/call--
moments later it all returns. i can get on the internet, but i can't call/text anyone.
this repeats itself.

so, i restored a backup from a few days ago. phone worked fine for 5 minutes
then same error message,and it all starts over with what i can access/can't access.

i've read it's just a process on the phone that needs to have time to wait it out--but even if i "wait" then it disables my radio and then i still can't call/text anyone.

possible bad Kernel or anyone else experiencing network problems, perhaps?
part of me thinks it's the Radio. internet works. but i literally can't get the phone to call anyone or send/receive any texts

(switching back to imo 2.5.3 test kernel to test that variable=======no go. still getting both of these error messages)
just tried calling my phone. handset doesn't ring, goes straight to voicemail.
(and yes, Mobile Network is Connected)

Crazy... I'd backup everything and start from scratch. If restoring a nandroid backup doesn't get it then it must run deep. I had to do that when my market quit working.

i need a backup of it so i can go back to my 'stock' ROM to see if it still has problems on the Froyo Radio

i'm gonna revert back to a Froyo ROM for now with its radio & see if it happens
if not--i'll upgrade back to DB 2.0.5Remix with MR1 radio see if it happens
if not--i'll upgrade to the MR2 radio

i think it might just be the radio at this point.

I don't remember dude. Sorry. I'd go with the first one if it was me. Think that was what I was on.

I used the first froyo radio in that thread - it's the mr1 updated cdma+lte i believe.

skipped the Froyo---i couldn't go back after experiencing GB goodness
running regular DB GB2.0.5 (3.0.1test kernel)
phone's working fine so far

if all stays ok for the next 48 hours i'll try upgrading to the 2.0.5Remix i came to love...maybe the 2.0.6Remix if i'm feeling daring.
