Coming from an iPhone - noob questions

I just picked up a Rezound after having an iphone for the past few years. I recently ran the de-boat tool and it was super easy and worked the first time!!

But i do have a few questions; what is the best launcher for performance?? i removed sense using cleantool

Also, ever since I removed the bloat I am getting the blue box with a question mark in my emails. did removing the bloat take away something I needed and how can I fix that

When I dial numbers unless i put in my area code the names don't auto populate. Is there a setting to change that?

I installed handcent sms and every other time it's resending earlier messages. is that normal?? are there any other sms apps that are good. I like to change it up in regards to themes.

Overall I do like the phone. Most of the reasons I jailbroke my iphone was to change things up and customize it. I love the fact that i can change pretty much whatever I want. Of course the battery life is pretty bad. Any other tips to improve battery life besides brightness etc??

There is no best launcher thank god. Choose the one that works best for you. For emails...don't use the stock email app, it sucks. Try k-9 or enhanced-email. 10 digit dialing is an unfortunate part of life, you can try an alternate dialer but I think you run the same problem throughout. I just dial right from my contacts. Let's see, handcent resending messages is nothing new and it's the app vs the problem being with the phone.

for battery life, set display to automatic. Under settings, power, you can select power level. Lower power level settings would probably use less battery life. Although, anything other than high performance will shut off 4GLTE. You can manually turn it on again though.

You might want to try sense...I personally dont like it (I dont like any Vendor skins), but I know a lot of people who have a boner for it. Of all the vendor UI skins, it is by far the best one.

Of the 3rd party launchers. LauncherPro and ADW seem to be the most popular. I personally love LauncherPro, because it is fast and smooth (even on my Droid 1 it was smooth) and highly customizable in a "minimalist" way.

I remember having a small problem with this on my Droid 1. I have not installed it on my Rezound yet. I think it resends the text if it thinks the network didnt get it. I have had the opposite problem too, where it hangs indefinitely and never sends the text.

I have not had these problems recently though. Handscent is one of the most customizable apps I have used on Android...you can change anything on it.

There is a replacement battery for $50 that doubles battery life from the stock. It will add bulk and weight to the phone though. 4G is a battery hog on any phone; when (if?) the iPhone ever gets 4G they will have similar problems. Switching to 3G or Wifi will help with battery life.

Thanks for all the tips!! I downloaded k9. Seems nice but is there a way to get the message to group together vs having each individual message show??

I tried Go Launcher and that's pretty cool so far. I also saw that they had an sms app, so I installed that. seems pretty cool so far.

The one thing that is pretty sweet vs ios is that I can try a ton of different things. even when you jailbroke it you needed to use the entire theme and not just what you want.

Any word on when to expect this to get rooted, not to change the subject.
