Anyone who has come from a pixel or as close to vanilla/stock android to the or a Samsung device find it difficult to navigate through Google apps vs Samsung apps? I started with Samsung and went Google pixel 2xl then tried the s10 plus for a few weeks before returning it and things like calendar, gallery/photos, and normal notifications just annoyed me. Or I just didn't know the best ways to navigate between the 2. Any suggestions or ideas that work best for you? I enjoy using the Google apps and have invested years in it. Just looking for best ways around this. Since I know you might lose some samsung functionality by not using their apps. I'm looking to move to the note 10 plus if I don't like what I see during the Google event today. Thanks in advance.

I primarily use the Google apps except Samsung Pay which is better than Google Pay and Samsung's device finder which has more features. I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help because I came from the Pixel and not sure when I will go back.

I get it. I guess I should have clarified. I would use some of samsung apps like Samsung Pay which I agree is much better than Google Pay. Plus, my bank is not compatible with Google pay so I have no choice there. If Samsung does it better I'm open to using the Samsung app. But things like notifications to me are much better on they pixel. But I may not have given it enough time on samsung to figure it out. I think a good mix of what Google offers while using the robust Samsung feature set is ideal. Just trying to figure out how others have conformed to the new ui. Thanks

Its too bad Samsung Pay only works on Samsung

I actually preferred the Samsung file manager and email app (until they ruined it in my opinion), and the browser is still pretty lightweight, if you like that. But rooting and actually using a Samsung is a lot more difficult than a Pixel, and you can do a lot more with a Pixel. (No Knox to worry about.)

That's not to say that I'm jumping on the Pixel 4 bandwagon - the Pixel 2 with Camera 3 is pretty much the same as the 4, except for raw speed and amount of RAM, and I don't need either at the moment. (And I have almost a year of updates coming, so maybe with the 6 [or even the 5 when the 6 comes out].)
