I thought iPhones were the best until my Sprint contract was eligible for an upgrade and to the Note 4 I went!!! So glad that I did, iPhones are so basic and pretty much they're all the same lol. You truly are missing out on Androids full potential if you choose not to root your phone, I love the Note 4! ONLY complaint I have is the headphone jack placement since it dangles over the screen and back by the cam sometimes but I will be trying a new Bluetooth headset soon.

I am glad you like your phone! Rooting isn't 100% needed for full potential use. Some people just don't have any need to (I am one of them now) -- Stock runs fine :).

Err what? I am not "losing" anything by NOT rooting and/or flashing custom roms on my phone.... I choose not to do since I simply don't care

I know what u mean did same long time ago funny is was using Samsung s4 but girlfriend wanted to try it so I'm on an iPhone 5s lol I feel like I'm in the slow lane with 4 flat tires ...and best part she loves the s4 not so good for me cos now I'm stuck with 5s till I sell it and get me a real cell lol
Thinking of another s4 or go up to s5 :)

Lol definitely not losing anything. Rooting just gives android so much more but to each his own

Didn't mean it that way sorry no reason to be upset it's ok. Rooting gives android so much more power

I didn't say losing out either, learn to read. I said missing out (on root features)

I never root Androids or Jailbreak iPhones.

Some do and that's fine but I don't feel like I am missing out because I choose not to..

Everyone play nice. We welcome everyone's opinion but please do so in a polite manner

Rooting has advantages and disadvantages. I prefer not to root as im happy with what i got.

as to the original point going from iPhone 5s to NOTE4... i just did it.

My first droid.... WOW

screen blows it away
battery life.. blows it away
customization blows it away
the swipe down notification options basically put apples 2 options (swipe up from bottom, swipe down from top) into one with the ability to customize whats in there
camera BLOWS iphone away

.....there is a pattern here....

Welcome OP. I came from an iPhone 5 and I agree that there's certainly more to do and see with my new Note 4. I've had mine for10 days and I'm still tinkering with it. And the screen and battery life are certainly a step up in weight class.

I'd say coming from am iphone, the last thing you'd need to do is root. I could understand going from a Droid to iPhone and wanting to jailbreak.

Just an FYI since you guys switched .. You should call it Android. If you say Droid in forums people may get confused and think you mean the Droid Phones (Verizon Exclusive) instead of Android as a whole.

Either way .. Welcome to Android & Android Central! :).
