Complete Backup

Is there a way to totaly backup the phone to restore it in case I screw up the rooting process?

Before root, not entirely. You can sync contacts, email and calendar events with Google, save sms/mms messages with a text backup app (search the market, there are a few). Most everything else, such as settings, won't be saved.

Cool. The things I mentioned are probably the most important. Everything else will be a bit tedious, but can be set up back to your liking, including the apps.
