Hello, all.

I have seen all sort of posts about backup up apps, images, music, etc... However, I am getting a replacement Note 4 this afternoon and I have my current one setup exactly like I want it... Apps, Icons, Screens, etc..

What is the easiest way (if at all) to backup the image of my current Note 4 and once I get my new one, restore the image to the new one?

Is this possible?

Thanks much.

if you want to backup an image, then with root, you can do an nand backup, then on the new note 4, you can restore the nand backup, after rooting. without root, there isn't a way to backup an image.

Best way that I know of, and it's just for pics, music and files, is My Backup Pro or similar apps that will back everything you choose to your SD card or online. Best advice is tedious but I do this when necessary, and that is to take screenshots of the settings of each app and of your home screens so you can refer back to how it was last. Then backup to a backup app, messages, call logs, contacts (should be backed up to Google but I back up contacts just in case something goes wrong), files (documents), music (unless already on your SD card) etc. To my knowledge there isn't even a rooting process for the Note 4 right now anyways, besides I wouldn't want to take a chance on sending back a bad or bricked phone in exchange for your replacement, because when they get it if they see it has been rooted or bricked, they will deny your claim and charge you full price for the replacement, so even if you could root it, and even if you are comfortable in doing so, I would advise against it in this circumstance. Hopefully somebody else will have a better option for you, but this is the best that I can come up with based on my experience. Hope it helped.

Titanium Backup Pro.... if you know what you are doing, you can restore your phone, icons and widgets, SMS, phone logs and all. If the new phone is identical to the old one (model/Android version)... it is even easier.

I ROM hop from time to time on my Nexus 6 and my TB backups make getting back to where I was a snap.

Nova launcher will back up the Homescreens. They are placeholder icons only so you still have to download everything.

i know this is late. the best from samsung to samsung IF you have both devices and both are semi operational, download smartswitch, transfers everything from device to device including wallpaper, MMS and SMS, (very important if you have picture messages you simply cannot lose) sadly you will be hard pressed for screen setup as in icons and widgets.
there is IF both device have it available, NFC.
