'Computerspeak' garbage is cluttering one side of my screen

The screen of my galaxy s4 now has a mass of constantly changing flickering system info overlaid on it. Any suggestions please on how to get rid of it?

Welcome to Android Central! You probably have a Developer Option turned on. Go to Settings>Developer Options​, and turn off anything that you might have turned on.

Many thanks B. Diddy somehow 'show CPU usage' had got turned on. All good again. Much obliged.
