Confused About How to Flash a ROM

Hey all, I'm new to rooting, AC, and smartphones in general. I got the Tbolt on release day and decided to finally root it.

I followed Corey's instructions and got my phone rooted and downloaded SU and ROM Manager, and am trying to flash The Perfect Storm, but am having issues.

Every time I try and boot my phone to the bootloader to do anything, I get stuck. My only options on the first screen are "Bootloader", "Reboot", "Reboot Bootloader", and "Power Down". If I choose "Reboot Bootloader", the screen goes white and the screen just reloads. "Reboot" just restarts the phone. "Bootloader" takes me to a second screen with a few options which don't do anything. "CRC Image", "Factory Reset", "Fast Boot", and "HBoot USB" are a few of the options which appear, but none of them lead to anything useful. They either flash back to the first screen, or lock up for a few minutes "checking" something or other before stopping and going back to the same screen.

I've tried everything and nothing seems to happen. I know I have the zip file for my ROM on the SD card without being in any explicit folders, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can anybody help?

You flash roms in recovery not in hboot. For easy way download rom manager. In rom manager select install rom from sdcard. Locate the rom check wipe then OK

Yeah you gotta get Rom manager in the market, and then you can install from within that app or you can download the rom as .zip file, make sure its on your sd card, boot into the bootloader screen, select recovery, and do the steps manually. you should read the threads about rooting before you do these things, just to be familiar with the steps and all that.

Thanks zero and especially miami, I solved my problem. Even though I was following all the flashing instructions, nothing was happening. I went back to stock and rerooted and flashed Perfect Storm successfully. I can only assume I somehow bungled my rooting process.
