Confused by battery saving options

I've been away from Samsung/Android for many years (iOS) so I'm playing catchup on many things associated with my Exynos Note 20 Ultra. Specifically, I'm confused about the battery setting options. It is unclear exactly what is happening with each option and the manual is of no help.

So. from the sound of the option names, Optimized sounds ideal except it appears that you cannot have that option and Adaptive power saving running at the same time. While you can select both, the settings change with use to the Medium power saving and Adaptive power saving.

Can someone explain the various options or direct me to a reference source so I can learn more about what's possible?

Thanks.

Mine was like yours I think at one time. I changed it to medium and then I selected adaptive. Then when I went to check later on. This was what I saw

Thanks.
So strange as mine will not stay on Optimized if I also have Adaptive poser saving selected. It changes in the background to either Optimized on/Adaptive power saving off or Optimized on/adaptive power saving on. Maybe because it's still learning my usage? Still, I wish the options were clearer as to what they actually mean/do.

Thanks.

If you want it to stick to optimized then uncheck Adaptive. As the explanation in adaptive option, it'll automatically change/select power modes based on your usage patterns etc. So if you don't want that dynamic options just select the whichever option you want without Adaptive option selected and leave at that.

Thanks. Guess I'm still hoping to find more specific information about the various modes as trial and error leaves things rather subjective. Not fond of the idea of disabling 5G on a hit and miss basis to see what happens. Not a specific complaint about Samsung. Not providing details is the nature of tech today.

When in optimized mode and adaptive checked at some point it well go to medium mode to save even more battery thats why its adaptive ,when that happens you'll get delayed notification, slightly lower brightness, volume etc.

Thanks, that helps and also highlights why it's confusing as the items selected change without any user input. I would think it would make sense to keep the items selected as is. I thought something was wrong as every time I returned something else was checked. Maybe it's just me. Coming from an iPhone Pro Max I haven't had to think about battery settings in some time. Plus, I had the dreaded Exynos version!
