connect Samsung tablet sm-t520 to windows 10 pro pc via usb

I can see mtp on samsung but nothing on windows 10 pc: not on devices & printers, or device manager, or network etc
I'd like to transfer files from pc to tablet via usb (don't have bluetooth on pc) and do the transfer from the pc.
How can I do it?

You should see the phone in Explorer as a new drive. If you don't, install the Samsung driver in the PC. About the easiest way to do that is to install Samsung Smart Switch for Windows - it installs the driver.

This is something that I did without a problem while in windows 7.
Now I cannot.
I connect the cable and nothing is seen in This PC or Network or anywhere else.
I let the tablet search nearby devices, saw the mtp and nothing.
I want to transfer files from PC to tablet, via PC since it is more convenient, but will settle for doing it via tablet.
Please help

Merged duplicate threads. Also edited out email address, to protect your privacy.

When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon, then make sure MTP is selected. Or does the USB icon not appear? Have you tried using a different USB cable?
